Video from scene of Knowle West murder shows forensics activity and cordon across Leinster Avenue

Video and pictures from the scene of an alleged murder shows police forensics working to piece together what happened.

A murder investigation has been launched after a man died after suffering serious injuries in an assault in Knowle West. The 39-year-old man was found in Leinster Avenue just after 11.30pm yesterday. (Friday, January 12.)

Senior Investigating Officer DCI Kerry Paterson said: “Officers and police staff have been working on this investigation throughout the night and we’ve arrested two people in connection with the man’s death.

“A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.”

Video and pictures from the scene this morning show two forensics tents have been set up where the man sadly died.

Forensics officers in white coats have draped police tape over a blue car and a police car and are inspecting the ground for clues. They are taking photographic evidence and collecting things in evidence bags.

An Ambulance is still on scene and several officers.

The road is completely closed.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary said that, despite the extensive efforts of officers and paramedics at the scene, the man died from his injuries a short time after being found.

DCI Paterson said: “Officers and police staff have been working on this investigation throughout the night and we’ve arrested two people in connection with the man’s death.

“A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 32-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

“We’ve informed the victim’s next of kin and we’ll be giving them all the support they need during this extremely traumatic time.
