Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin requested government jet for honeymoon trip

U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin requested the use of a government jet to fly him and his wife, Louise Linton, on their European honeymoon over the summer, a request prompting an “inquiry” with the Treasury Department’s Office of Inspector General, according to ABC News.

Per the report, such a request would typically cost approximately $25,000 per hour. In a statement to ABC, a spokesman for the Treasury Department said the secretary put in the request for security reasons.
