Tom – who turns 40 on Friday – got his first acting break 16 years ago in Band of Brothers playing John A. Janovec, and in the years that followed he went on to star in Star Trek: Nemesis (2002) and Sweeney Todd as Matthew in 2006.
Obviously that was just the start for Tom, but how much has his showbiz career made him so far?
Tom is thought to have a net worth of $15 million (£11 million) as of last year, but estimates actually go up as high as $30 million (£23 million).
The actor – who was linked to the role of James Bond before Daniel Craig confirmed that he would be filling the Secret Service agent’s shoes once again – most recently starred in the likes of Dunkirk (which made $492.2 million at the U.S. box office), Oscar-winning The Revenant (that made $533 million at the box office) and Mad Max: Fury Road ($378.9 million).

The gritty show struggled with ratings on TV, with just 3.9 million tuning in for the third episode in January, but it managed to soar in online viewing figures, making it one of iPlayer’s most popular programmes.
