KNOX COUNTYDETOUR: The left turn lane from southbound Alcoa Highway onto Woodson Drive in Knoxville is closed. Motorists on southbound Alcoa Highway wishing to access Woodson Drive will be detoured to SR 168 Gov. John Sevier Highway to SR 33 Maryville Pike back to Woodson Drive. This closure will remain in effect through the Spring of 2018. During this time, there will be no left turns permitted onto southbound Alcoa Highway from Woodson Drive. Motorists on Woodson Drive wishing to access southbound Alcoa Highway should follow detour route. Motorists should be alert for possible lane closures through this area as crews perform roadway maintenance repairs. Motorists should be alert for workers present, expect potential delays and use caution through this area. North Central Street: Beginning Monday, Jan. 15, North Central Street will be closed to through traffic between Depot and Magnolia avenues. The closure is part of the $5.8 million North Central Street streetscapes project. Southern Constructors Inc. crews will be making stormwater infrastructure upgrades at the project’s southern end. Access will be maintained to the Greyhound terminal. Traffic will be shifted a few blocks further to the north, and there will be no on-street parking on the east side of Central between Fifth and Fourth avenues (next to Historic Knoxville High School).
