Paste premieres single from The Artisanals
Charleston rock band The Artisanals, who have opened for and will be playing on tour with Band of Horses, were featured on Paste Magazine last week.
The national music magazine premiered a song from the band’s upcoming Sept. 14 EP “Literally Anywhere,” which will be preceded by a show at the Royal American to begin a fall tour.
Corey Flegel of Paste writes, “Today we premiere The Artisanals first official single, ‘Roll With It,’ and it’s instantly memorable, bringing to mind the best of Tom Petty and the more fun aspects of Father John Misty and The War on Drugs.”
“Roll With It” is one of four tracks from “Literally Anywhere,” which was recorded on vintage gear at the Magic Shop, the same studio David Bowie recorded his last two albums and Arcade Fire recorded “The Suburbs.”
The Artisanals consists of Johnny Delaware, who used to play in Susto, as well as Clay Houle, Steven Walker and Jordan Hicks.
Delaware and Houle were in the studio for an interview on last Friday’s episode of Charleston’s new music podcast The Fringe. Learn more about the new EP and fall tour then.
